Job Description
We are seeking a candidate with a strong accounting background to join our Creative Service Line Controllership team. The core responsibilities of the Assistant Controller are to ensure the financial data shared with key stakeholders is technically accurate, complete, and delivered timely while maintaining a strong control environment through adherence to IFRS and internal policies and procedures. This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
- Manage the month end close of Creative Service Line entities including partnering with the offshore Controllership Center of Excellence (“CCOE”) and third-party outsourced provider
- Ensure Review Balance Sheet reconciliations are performed timely and with a high-level of quality in Blackline via Blackline.
- Ensure Revenue and related Cost of Sales are properly recognized
- Ensure WIP is reconciled and have deeper understanding of aged WIP balances
- Gain deeper understanding od Deferred Income and Accrued Income balances
- Coordinate with Operational Finance to ensure all client-related activity follows Sequential Liability principles.
- Ensure processes and procedures are aligned across the Service Line and with US market standards
- Lead the annual Group audit and internal audits as required
- Ensure compliance with all JSOX requirements, developing remediation plans when and where applicable for any failures
- Integrate business units added to the Service Line via acquisition or corporate re-alignment
- Partner with FP&A to ensure actual results support a robust forecasting process
- Assist Treasury and Tax with all related reporting requirements
- Partner with Operational Finance to support Net Working Capital and sequential liability requirements
- Develop onshore and off-shore team members
- Assist on ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of BS degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent).
- CPA (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- 7 - 12 years of relevant accounting experience. Audit experience preferred.
- Experience with business transformations and change management preferred, not required.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge includingrelating, but not limited to, revenue recognition, intercompany and project accounting.
- CStrong collaboration and relationship building skills across Finance, Operations and Management within the Service Line and Regional teams.
- Experience working in a complex, matrixed environment
- Experience working with off-shore/outsourced resources an advantage
- Ability to work autonomously and drive multiple projects simultaneously
- Well organized, meticulous with detail, and demonstrate an ability to identify areas for improvement and efficiency
- Advanced competency in Microsoft office, specifically Excel
- Experience with Dynamics 365, Blackline, Nexelus, Concur, Coupa Bellin Treasury and SAP BPC an advantage
