Job Description
SUMMARY:
identify and prepare for proactive maintenance activities, including scheduling, planning, administrative and clerical operations for the Maintenance Department.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Plan work for the maintenance department including the development and continuous improvement of job plans.
- Develop, compile, format and enter data into the Preventative Maintenance (PM) computer program MVP.
- Identify materials and parts needed for work completion.
- Assist as a buyer in the research of sources, pricing and purchasing of the Maintenance Department parts, supplies, and services.
- Maintain maintenance parts & supplies inventory records and initiate purchasing process when levels go below predetermined minimums.
- Update and maintain equipment records.
- Generate reports from AS/400 system for the Maintenance Manager.
- Provide input and support to the maintenance team, purchasing, and maintenance departments. Track and provide meaningful measures to improve the maintenance department. Identify patterns and points of failure.
- Work with the maintenance team to develop documented maintenance strategies for all plant equipment and eliminate failures through root cause failure analysis and reliability centered maintenance activities.
- Prioritizing work and deciding what work should be planned and what not.
- Must continually seek out new methods to lower costs in equipment repairs and maintenance downtime.
- Identify what work needs to be done why, when, how and by which craft to prevent functional failure and ensure assets continue to perform as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years maintenance experience with experience in planning and scheduling.
- Good knowledge of maintenance processes and activities.
- Advanced computer skills.
- Working and practical knowledge of applicable PM technologies such as: Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Infra Red, Ultra Sound, and Motor Circuit Evaluation
- Working knowledge of Maintenance Management systems.
- Formal training in planning and scheduling such as courses, workshops or seminars a plus.
- RCM background a plus.
SKILLS:
- Ability to organize, coordinate and accomplish multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated effective systematic problem solving skills.
Additional Information
This position reports to work in a manufacturing environment and will include:
- Periodic temperature extremes, including temperatures over 90 degrees
- Concrete or asphalt floors
- Possible exposure to high levels of noise
- Possible exposure to dust
- Possible periodic exposure to fumes from paints and chemicals used in coating processes
- Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs.
This is an hourly non-exempt position. Compensation based on experience.
