About the role:
As a principal site resource, the EH&S Project Manager will design and implement Environment, Health & Safety projects and programs, while guiding functional process owners in change management and controls, business transfers, acquisitions, and performance improvement. This role is responsible for ensuring the site is compliant and conforms with all Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing strategies to drive continuous improvement in EH&S performance and assure comprehensive operational compliance
  • Designing and executing projects and programs to align with relevant business strategies as well and EH&S and Quality Management System requirements 
  • Using project management tools to prepare project plans, schedules, and budgets; work with stakeholders to understand tasks necessary to complete projects
  • Assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans where appropriate
  • Using standard estimating techniques and tools to assess project efforts and resource requirements; work with appropriate stakeholders to understand scope of efforts 
  • Coordinating project tasks including administrative responsibilities and service agreements for external consultants, contractors, and vendors as needed
  • Facilitating project status meetings using reports and presentations to provide updates to stakeholders; collaborate with leadership teams to assess project progress and resource needs
  • Working with project stakeholders and related teams to resolve project and program issues
  • Mentoring junior EH&S professionals in project and program management processes and techniques
  • Participating in global initiatives to improve the overall EH&S Management System and performance outcomes
  • Analyzing EH&S performance data to identify trends and opportunities; use data to coach managers on appropriate actions to improve performance
  • Staying informed of current and new regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines


Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Safety Management, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or other related discipline
  • Minimum 5yrs of EH&S experience including employee safety projects and program management within an industrial or manufacturing setting  
  • Working knowledge of EH&S regulatory agencies and requirements (OSHA, EPA, MPCA, DOT, EPCRA, RCRA, etc.).
  • Experience leading cross-functional project teams with ability to influence and drive performance 
  • Ability to travel 5-10% domestic and international

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Project Management Certification
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental and/or ISO45001 Health & Safety Management System 
  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical, medical device or electronics industry
  • Experience working in a GMP or similar environment controlled by a Quality Management System 
  • Experience with emergency incident command and ergonomic risk reduction in manufacturing, laboratory or office setting
