Summary

Weisiger Group, a third generation, full-service distributor of construction, power generation and industrial equipment is in need of a dynamic Accounting Manager who can oversee divisional accounting functions of this rapidly growing, multi-state organization. We strive to streamline existing processes and develop new processes. Successful continuous improvement should help the Finance organization meet its stated purpose of being a trusted partner and deliverer of value-added information to the business.

This role will handle a variety of general ledger accounting, reporting and analysis, and shared service responsibilities.

Essential Functions

  • General ledger account reconciliation preparation and review of assigned accounts
  • Prepares and reviews journal entries; ensures sufficient documentation supporting the transactions exist thereby facilitating future examination of underlying purpose.
  • Prepares balance sheet and other financial reports.
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document accounting systems and associated accounting processes.
  • Ensure strong internal controls exist and are operating effectively for the functions managed.
  • Support external audits related to various aspects of general accounting by providing support schedules, reconciliations and answering questions posed by the audit team.
  • Coach, train, and evaluate employees to enhance their performance and personal growth; foster communication and teamwork within the teams managed as well as across the organization.
  • Continually monitor business practices and procedures and identify areas of improvement and act accordingly to implement improved practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has supervisory responsibilities for 2-3 Accountants.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or comparable educational background with 5+ years of equivalent, appropriate experience.
  • Licensed CPA
  • Good understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
