What are we looking for?
The Senior External Audit Analyst, reporting to the Senior Manager of Compliance Audit plays a critical role leading and coordinating regulatory and client-driven operational and financial audits. This position operates with a high degree of independence and serves as a liaison between internal operational units and external regulators, clients, and auditors. The analyst is responsible for ensuring audit readiness, facilitating audit engagements, and driving successful outcomes through proactive collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Where you will have an impact
Manage external audits from initial request through to client reporting.
Evaluate audit scope letters, audit tools, samples and other requested items to ensure clear understanding of the requests and deliverables.
Conduct follow-up as necessary with Client Management and clients to clarify any issues with the audit request.
Communicate with the responding operational areas to obtain detailed responses to audit requests/findings.
Ensure that documentation is responsive to the audit request, including being comprehensive of all required data or information; follow-up with operational areas as necessary.
Ensure responses are received timely and escalate past due responses as necessary.
Prepare materials, as necessary, prior to submission to the external auditors.
Obtain, review and/or prepare audit responses for inclusion in draft and final reports.
Act as the subject-matter expert to the organization for ODAG / SARAG CMS audit activities, including mock audits.
Act as the subject-matter expert to the organization for regulatory audits conducted for state-specific lines of business, including Departments of Insurance, Departments of Health, Medicaid Agencies and OIG.
Deliver training and feedback to staff and business process owners on audit facilitation and related processes.
Document observations and their root cause and make recommendations for corrective action.
Communicate audit results and support the development of the company’s response to report issuance.
Act as a liaison with the Program Manager for the monitoring and validation of corrective action plans (CAPs)
Prepare departmental reporting to internal and external customers.
Interface with clients and regulatory bodies as needed.
Conduct or participate in special projects, programs and requests as needed.

What’s necessary to do the job?
Bachelor’s in business administration, management, healthcare administration, finance, accounting, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of three (3) year of related experience in quality, compliance or regulatory audit
Knowledge and experience in the insurance, health, or vision care industry preferred
Knowledge and experience with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), active Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or other relevant certification preferred.
