Trainee Accountant-Investment Back Office

Job Summary

The Investment Back Office teams are Settlements, Unit Pricing and Investment Accounts. Together we ensure that all investment activity transacted by the Company and its clients is recorded accurately on the investment and unit pricing systems within specified deadlines. We deliver a high quality service to our internal and external customers.

 

This role may be available part-time or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.  Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

 

Your Role

You will receive exposure to all areas within the Investment Back Office, with your role starting with Settlements.

Role & Responsibilities:  

Overall responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
• Ensure all daily tasks and controls in the Investment Back Office are executed efficiently and effectively within our SOX framework.
• Processing of investment transactions and policyholder cash flows
• Daily verification and review of instrument pricing
• Daily pricing of unit linked funds and review
• Reconciliations of Investment related bank and custody accounts
• Perform Investment accounting and analysis, assist in the preparation of financial statements, CSO and Financial Regulator returns
• Liaise with local Financial, Fund Administration, Actuarial and Group reporting teams
• Ongoing update of process and procedures documentation
• Ad-hoc project work as required by business needs
 

Your Skills and Experience

Required: 
• Recent graduate with a third level qualification in a course with a strong financial or mathematical content, such as Accountancy, Finance, Business or Mathematics
• Willingness to undertake an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Computer literate and competent with MS Excel
• Very good written and oral communication skills in English
• Relevant financial services experience is an advantage
• Hi-Portfolio and/or SAP experience is an advantage

Additional Information

 Primary work location is Blackrock. Position is Dublin-based but occasional travel may be required to other
Zurich locations.
