As our Medical Editor, you will…

The Medical Editor is part of a department responsible for supporting and collaborating with the copywriting and medical teams in presenting clear, concise, factually and grammatically correct copy to our healthcare-related clients. The Medical Editor is also involved in editorial support for other departments when needed to review concepts, client presentation materials, and new business pitches/RFPs. This position ensures crucial quality control over our clients’ projects, across all stages of both print and digital media. 

  • Review material for grammar, spelling, punctuation, correct medical terminology, typos, and formatting 
  • Check factual accuracy of content 
  • Ensure style consistency (AMA style, client-specific style, brand and campaign style) 
  • Check content/graphics against original sources for quality control 
  • Verify correct implementation of client and regulatory changes
  • Maintain style guides and master reference lists

These are the qualifications we’re looking for

  • At least 4 years of editing/copyediting medical copy 
  • BS/BA in English, Journalism, or a Science field from a 4-year college or university 
  • Some ad agency experience preferred 
  • Must be proficient in using PubMed and the American Medical Association Manual of Style to verify references, spelling, medical terminology, and style
