Your Everyday
Obtains patient’s vital signs as directed.
Communicate with patient’s nurse practitioner to report any out-of-range vital signs or patient/parental concerns
Assists with specimen collection such as midstream, urine/clean, catch urine specimen, nasal swab, etc.
After delineation, provides surface trauma or orthopedic care support per physician order or delegation of medical/nursing personnel.
Check on patients both in patient’s rooms and emergency department waiting areas and escort them to treatment/testing areas.
Answer unit telephone, call lights and alarms promptly to determine needs.
Maintain clean room, unit and unit equipment as well as other unit areas refreshing supplies, linens, and disinfecting room according to policy.
Assist in emergency situations as requested.
The Must-Haves
Minimum:
High School Diploma or 2 years of experience in related clinical area.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Crisis Prevention Institute Non-violent Crisis Prevention certification.
