Dublin, hybrid

This role is within our Experience & Engineering team in Ireland, and will be seconded to one of our clients within health services. We combine our skills in developing future-ready technical solutions with our expertise in creating beautiful designs to deliver exceptional and engaging digital experiences that build lasting relationships with our clients. 

JOB PURPOSE

As Brand and Digital Designer you will play a key role in shaping and maintaining the visual identity across all channels for one of our biggest clients. You will be responsible for supporting the strategic development and application of the Visual Identity and Naming guideline to help staff and collaborators create things that are useful and consistent. You will support the development of the Design System, working with UX, content and product designers to sketch, prototype and test products and services. 

This role requires curiosity, craft and attention to detail. The successful candidate will understand how to use design to solve problems for people and be comfortable working within a system which prioritises inclusive, accessible design which can support the needs of a complex organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Visual Identity Management: Champion, evolve (within established parameters), and ensure consistent application of visual identity across all digital and brand channels. This includes managing guidelines, creating user-friendly templates, tools and guides.
  • Brand Application Across Channels: Translate the visual identity effectively across various digital platforms (website, apps, social media) and traditional brand materials (reports, presentations, campaigns).
  • User Interface (UI) Design: Design consistent and user-friendly interfaces for digital products, ensuring alignment with the design system, visual identity and accessibility standards.
  • Visual Communication: Create compelling visual assets that effectively communicate complex health information.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with UX and content designers to ensure visual elements enhance usability and engagement within digital products.
  • Accessibility and Inclusion: Ensure all visual design solutions meet accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and are inclusive of diverse user needs.
  • Design Standards and Principles: Contribute to the development and promotion of broader design standards and principles within the team, particularly in relation to visual communication and branding. Ensure work is delivered which is compliant with legal requirements and policy directives.
  • Design Operations and Process: Contribute to the development of processes and workflows to support users of the Visual Identity.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver impactful visual solutions.
  • Learning and development: Educate and elevate our organisation’s design literacy and implementation through engaging design-sessions for non-design staff, hands-on clinics, provide ongoing support and guidance for basic design implementation, develop self-service resources for common design needs.
  • Promote the use of the Irish language: Develop assets and workflows that support effective communication through Irish in line with our organisational goals and legal requirements. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Significant experience as a multidisciplinary designer with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in visual communication, branding, and digital design.
  • A deep understanding of visual identity principles, brand guidelines, and their application across diverse channels.
  • Strong skills in user interface (UI) design for web and mobile applications.
  • Excellent visual communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards across print and digital.
  • Experience working within brand guidelines and ensuring their consistent application.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • A solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma).
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft suite as required for corporate communications (design and build Powerpoint and Word templates).
  • The ability to develop print ready artwork. An understanding of print production processes, including color management and preparing artwork for professional printing.
  • An understanding of the principles of interaction design and how visual design supports it.
