Senior Managing Director, Head of OriginationsDepartment:
DL - Direct LendingThis role requires a senior contributor who has deep relationships with lower middle market private equity sponsors as well as meaningful credit, deal execution and legal documentation experience. This individual will be responsible for assisting with sourcing, structuring and reviewing of new investment opportunities and monitoring existing investments while providing leverage to Senior Originators.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with lower middle market sponsors to identify, create and source deal flow
- Assisting Senior Originators in maintaining existing sponsor relationships and establishing new relationship contacts incremental to those that are already existing at the Senior Originator level
- Developing new deal, product ideas and opportunities for sponsors
- Analyzing, preparing and presenting existing Golub Capital and sponsor portfolio companies for refinancing or add on financing opportunities
- Effectively managing the deal approval process by working fluidly between the client and internal underwriting and legal to improve win rate and deliver seamless execution
- Gathering competitor and market intelligence
- Organizing marketing calls and client events
- Developing strong working relationships with all key departments of Golub Capital
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a related subject area discipline with an outstanding record of academic achievement
- At least 10 years of experience working in financial services with 2+ years of related experience supporting and / or managing relationships to source deal flow
- Leveraged lending experience in an investment bank or asset management firm that actively serves this targeted client base
- Strong knowledge of the credit markets
- Ability to effectively communicate with external and internal clients
- Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture
