Courier/Specimen Processing FT Evenings

Responsible for safe and timely transport of specimens, reports and supplies for Torrance Memorial Laboratories Outreach Services.

• Picks up and delivers lab specimen as required.
  
  
• Completes and maintains laboratory logs and other required records.
  
  
• Delivers interoffice mail and supplies to draw stations within 24 hours.
  
  
• Delivers client supply requests within 24 hours.
  
  
• Delivers laboratory reports to outreach physician offices according to schedule.
  
  
• Maintains assigned courier vehicle for cleanliness and safe operation.
  
  
• Maintains all specimens at the correct transport temperature using provide specimen transport containers.
  
  
• Communicates status of scheduled and STAT specimen pick-up requests with clients and Client Service staff.
  
  
• Orders and stocks department supplies.
  
  
• Demonstrates an active problem solving attitude & positive approach to all aspects of job
  
  
  
  
• Maintains safe work area by observing all safety procedures and reporting any unsafe conditions or practices to the appropriate personnel.
  
  
• Participates in hospital performance improvement activities (kaizens, lean initiatives) when appropriate.
  
  

 

License / Certification Requirements

California Class C drivers license.

Compensation Range:

$23.00 - $31.51 / Hour
