The Collins Engineering Laboratory provides experimental testing services for research, development, new product validation and verification, and in-service field problems. The Lab’s test facilities are organized into several specialized labs, including Pneumatics, Fuel, Hydro-Mechanical, Electronics/EMI, Vibration, and Metrology Labs. Our development focus is Electric, Environmental & Engine Systems, Propulsion, and Space Systems.
The Engineering Labs Supervisor is responsible for the management of the Technicians who construct and operate the laboratory facilities used to simulate the real-world environments that Collins Aerospace products will encounter in everyday use.
What You Will Do
- Manage a team of 15-25 unionized hourly Lab Technicians
- Interface between our Engineering customers and Laboratory Engineering staff
- Determine work schedule, job assignment, allocations of manpower and equipment based on program priority
- Clearly and effectively communicate vision, direction, goals, and expectations
- Establish standards and expectations for work efforts and performance of direct reports
- Effectively motivate, coach, discipline, and reward associates; manage and resolve conflict
- Take a lead role in driving performance metrics: Delivery, Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Financial, and EH&S
- Perform administrative function associates with Hourly Bargaining Unit employees, including timekeeping, overtime, training, and performance feedback
- Model and promote Environmental Health & Safety policies and goals. Ensure EH&S compliance
- Responsible for Calibration and Preventative Maintenance programs

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer
- Familiarity with AS9100 Aerospace Quality System
- Experience with calibration, metrology, electronic test equipment and instrumentation
- Supervisory and quality engineering experience
- Experience establishing strong working relationships across multiple business units
- Experience prioritizing multiple projects
