Data Conversion Analyst

About Your Role

The Card Issuing Data Conversion Analysts are part of a team who works directly with new clients to convert their existing credit card portfolios onto Fiserv processing platforms. You will join a team who will perform the initial review of a converting client’s data files, develop an extensive list of reports, and utilize custom tools to analyze the data, develop technical specifications for converting the data, present the specifications to the client, write the conversion programs and processes, and assist with the testing/loading processes.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver and execute technical data mapping analysis and other conversion project deliverables from end to end
  • Design and document complex technical requirements for business applications
  • Partner with business analysts to identify business needs and appropriate technical solutions
  • Create data conversion mapping programs and processes
  • Ensure quality of data conversion output (data, files, reports, statements, plastics, etc.) including holding quality inspections
  • Validating offline System and Output testing of data conversion files
  • Participate in mocks and other client events in conjunction with client and Fiserv partners
  • Monitor and identify risks and issues, and escalate appropriately

Experience you’ll need to have:

  • 4+ years of experience in an IT or business/data analysis role
  • 3+ years COBOL, Mainframe applications, IBM JCL, and TSO/TPX
  • 3+ years of experience in MS Office suite, Excel, SQL
  • 3+ years of experience in custom report and file processing, creation, validation to meet client requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Proven ability to manage and mitigate risks to project delivery
  • Prior experience in credit card issuing or financial industry
  • Ability to manage deliverables and provide support to multiple priorities, sense of urgency, and deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Prior experience with Optis production programs and processes

How you’ll work:

  • Fiserv emphasizes in-person collaboration to help you grow your career while shaping the future of fintech, this role is on-site Monday through Friday
  • This role requires being on-call during non-standard and/or overnight hours on a rotational basis
  • This role requires flexibility to work overtime that includes weekends and holidays
  • This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment

Travel:

  • Approximately 5% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected
