The Regional Nurse Practitioner Lead is a vital leadership role responsible for providing clinical oversight, operational coordination, and mentorship to Nurse Practitioners (NPs) within Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Independent Living facilities across South Carolina. This position ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality care by supporting NPs in their daily operations, overseeing regulatory compliance, optimizing workflows, and encouraging a collaborative team environment.
In addition to practicing within their clinical scope, the Regional NP Lead will serve as a bridge between facility staff, administration, and leadership, helping to streamline communication and align processes with company standards. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and compassionate clinician with proven leadership ability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage complexity with professionalism and dignity.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regional Nurse Practitioners regarding clinical and operational matters.
- Facilitate daily morning calls to support workflow alignment and communication across teams.
- Manage NP schedules in Paycom: timecards, expense approvals, and PTO tracking.
- Oversee PTO coverage planning and ensure uninterrupted patient care.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly 1:1 check-ins and annual performance evaluations for assigned NPs.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate On-Call and Holiday rotation schedules.
- Provide Practice Fusion support: user access, eRx enablement, schedule maintenance, and workflow education.
- Oversee NP onboarding and training: develop agendas, coordinate training schedules, and ensure readiness.
- Conduct regular chart audits to ensure documentation compliance and clinical quality.
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, including insurance verification and billing accuracy.
- Coordinate CPR recertifications and monitor licensure and credentialing requirements.
- Represent the NP team in facility and family meetings, ensuring clinical updates are communicated clearly.
- Collaborate with Home Health and Dr. Alliance: manage certifications, recertifications, billing, and fax/order processes.
- Monitor and assist with DME processes as needed.
- Foster team morale by celebrating milestones such as birthdays and work anniversaries.
- Participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings.
- Provide education and updates to Clinical Medical Assistants (CMAs).
- Support internal communication and professional development initiatives to create a learning-focused environment.
- Travel to locations throughout South Carolina as needed.
- Conduct individual and group on-site meetings with NPs.
- Serve as a backup for Nurse Practitioners when required.
Qualifications
- Active South Carolina APRN License in good standing.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management or leadership role.
- Prior experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner in primary care, palliative, or geriatric settings.
- Experience working in ALFs, SNFs, or ILFs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to handle feedback and coach others effectively.
- High proficiency in EHR platforms, particularly Practice Fusion.
- Skilled in multitasking, time management, and problem-solving in dynamic clinical environments.
