FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying fire protection engineering theories to identify and mitigate fire hazards associated with industrial operations, such as ship maintenance and repair. Experience reviewing engineering designs, technical work documents, and test plans to ensure compliance with fire safety codes and standards (e.g., NAVSEA, OSHA, NFPA). Experience participating in the analysis and evaluation of active and passive fire protection systems, such as fire detection/alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and fire-resistant barriers. Experience conducting facility or shipboard inspections to identify fire safety deficiencies and recommending corrective actions. Experience assisting in investigations of fire-related incidents to help determine root causes and contributing factors.
