Abound Health is hiring compassionate, reliable Universal Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) throughout Mercer County, including Hermitage, Sharon, Grove City, Mercer, Farrell, and surrounding communities.

A Universal DSP is a jack-of-all-trades support professional. Universal DSPs may be asked to work in licensed group homes, provide 1:1 in-home and community support, or assist across multiple service settings depending on client needs. We are seeking adaptable, confident DSPs who are comfortable supporting individuals in a variety of environments and who bring 2+ years of caregiving experience.

We currently have FOUR Universal DSP openings with full-time schedules available, including day shifts, weekend shifts, and rotating overnights.

Available Schedules

Day & Weekend Shifts

Saturday & Sunday | 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Two DSPs needed

Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
One DSP needed

Rotating Overnight Universal DSP (Full-Time)

Two-week rotation, providing every other weekend off:

Week A:
• Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday | 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

Week B:
• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday | 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.

About the Role

As a Universal DSP, you will provide one-on-one and group-based support in homes, community settings, and licensed residential programs. Your work helps individuals live safely, independently, and with dignity. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, dependable, and passionate about helping others — and who thrives in a dynamic environment where every day may look a little different.

Key Responsibilities

• Support behavioral, social, and vocational skill development
• Assist with recreational and community activities
• Follow treatment plans and document progress
• Provide companionship and respite care
• Submit documentation and payroll on time
• Participate in ongoing training
• Assist with personal care needs as required
• Work independently in home, community, and group home settings

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience required
• Genuine interest in supporting individuals with I/DD
• Ability to work independently and responsibly
• Valid driver’s license and active car insurance
• Comfortable supporting individuals with varying personal-care and behavioral-support needs
• At least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass background checks
• Physical ability to assist with lifting or transfers if needed

Compensation

$23.00 per hour
$1,000 signing bonus for qualified candidates

Schedule

• Multiple full-time schedules available
• Daytime, weekend, and overnight shifts
• Rotating overnight schedule includes every other weekend off

Experience

• 2+ years of caregiving experience required
• Experience with I/DD preferred (training provided)

Signing Bonus Details

• $333 after 90 days (minimum 20 hours/week)
• $333 after 6 months (minimum 20 hours/week)
• $334 after 1 year (minimum 20 hours/week)
• Bonus not available for Residential
