Job Summary
JOB SUMMARYThe Home Builder Finance Relationship Manager Team Lead manages Home Builder Finance loan relationships of all levels of complexity. Manages and provides guidance to Home Builder Finance Relationship Managers in the negotiation and structure of deals. Independently generates and assists team with new business and relationships that will produce revenue from companies, sponsors, developers and businesses. Generates deal flow directly from these clients/prospects and orchestrates a team approach to the relationship. Facilitates the team’s collaboration with product specialists, portfolio managers (credit, underwriting, transaction approvals/processing) and operational support specialists. Provides oversight and guidance in the origination, negotiation, structuring, pricing, underwriting, and closing of loans. Manages the team’s monitoring of portfolio quality and ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines. Develops Relationship Managers and monitors quantity and quality of work.
Pay Range: $165,621 - $223,588 - $281,556
Job Responsibilities:
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- 30% of time: New Business Origination:
Develops and maintains relationships to generate direct deal flow; Coordinates the team approach to approving and closing new deals to grow assets and revenues while optimizing profitability (ROE).
- 25% of time: Team Lead:
Orients, mentors, trains and assists Relationship Managers. Leads trouble shooting of escalated issues. Monitors and assists with the most complex/high risk deals. Monitor’s workload and quality of the team’s production. Promotes team approach, drives group revenues while optimizing profitability (ROE).
- 20% of time: Relationship Management:
Works with assigned portfolio managers, engage with sponsors and borrowers on idea generation and relevant opportunities to expand our relationship.
- 10% of time: Strategic Planning:
Partners with management to create action plans that ensure the achievement of goals. Tracks production and revenue, and forecasting results for management based on existing pipelines.
- 10% of time: Credit Quality:
Works with assigned portfolio managers to ensure pro-active monitoring of the credit quality of the portfolio through timely financial statement gathering, monitoring client’s compliance with ongoing required reporting, properly analyzing financial information and taking or recommending appropriate corrective actions based on acceptable levels. Ultimately responsible for managing the banks risk exposure to acceptable levels.
- 5% of time: Maintaining Knowledge:
Stays abreast of industry trends and market conditions that could impact the assigned portfolio of relationships and borrowers.
- Responsible for talent management functions including: employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning and ensuring all staff comply with compliance requirements.
ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in business, finance or related field.
- Minimum experience required: 15+ Years financing production homebuilders with at least 5 years in sales.
- Formal credit training program or experience in reading financial statements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience underwriting and structuring builder lines and acquisition & development loans.
- Experience networking and prospecting new clients and establishing builder finance relationships.
- Experience with complex transactions/relationships.
- Experience working with less experienced team members to mentor and develop them, sharing expertise and insights.
Job Competencies:
- Expert knowledge of commercial lending credit, underwriting and loan structuring.
- Expert analytical skills to understand financial and cash flow analyses.
- Highly developed negotiation skills in addition to excellent verbal and written communication ski
