FTR Trainer - Civil Operations

About the role

The First Time Right (FTR) Trainer - Civil Operations will report directly to the Senior Operations Manager and serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all civil-related activities. This role is responsible for supporting Civil Self-Perform efforts during construction execution by developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs). The FTR Trainer will be responsible for facilitating comprehensive training for new hires on projects. The Trainer will create and submit detailed reports on employee performance and provide on the job training (OJT) when needed. Identify training gaps and champion continuous improvement initiatives, and recommend methodology to enhance safety and quality standards as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adult training sessions to large groups effectively
  • Identify training gaps and provide actionable solutions
  • Develop analysis reports to evaluate training outcomes and workforce performance
  • Assist in new hire orientation programs
  • Compile and manage performance evaluations for the workforce
  • Track and update employee evaluations as needed
  • Prepare training materials, including videos, training aids, module summaries and other tools in support of ESP operations
  • Contribute to the development of Civil operations supervisory training programs
  • Develop feedback loops
  • Maintain all reporting requirements in accordance with FTR protocols
  • Serve as a SME in all operational aspects in support of the Civil Self Perform team
  • Collaborate with construction leadership to identify training needs and coordinate scheduling as needed
  • Work closely with operations and projects teams to optimize efficiency in Civil Operations
  • Lead quality control efforts to ensure all installed products meet client requirements and manufacturer design specifications
  • Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Operations Manager

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 years in Civil Operations (Solar +)
  • Possess experience in process development
  • Possess Solar experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in construction environment +
  • Must have ability to communicate clearly
  • Must possess strong computer skills
  • Must be organized and able to multi-task

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

The majority of this work is performed in a Construction environment and requires travel/overnight stays.  Will be required to perform physical labor.  Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 30 pounds.
