As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our Process Catalyst business unit, you will build a meaningful career supporting BASF’s Vidalia Manufacturing operation located in Vidalia, Louisiana.

 

We are seeking a professional like you to perform mechanical maintenance on a variety of machinery and mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveying systems, and other industrial production equipment.  Process Catalysts in the Vidalia, LA manufacturing site of North America while creating an engaged and safe work environment for our diverse employee base.
 

During your 8-hour day shift as a Maintenance Mechanic, you will…

 

• Perform mechanical maintenance tasks including but not limited to
   
• • Lubrication practices
  • Alignment of motors, pumps, and shafts
  • Assembly of equipment with gears, bearings, shafts, screws, and other components
  • Welding and cutting using electrical arc welding and oxygen/acetylene rigs
  • Operation of tools such as drill presses, hydraulic presses, powered hand tools, and other industrial maintenance tools
     
• Complete projects involving comprehension of drawings, material layout, fabrication, and installation.
   
• Work from elevated work platforms such as ladders, manlifts, scissor lifts, and scaffolding.
   
• Effectively record time, use of parts, and description of work on hard copy documents and electronic systems.
   
• Maintain high level of maintenance services to ensure compliance with company standards for production, cost control, quality, safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability are achieved.
   

If you...

 

• Have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Have 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience or similar maintenance experience.
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Are able to work from elevated work platforms such as ladders, manlifts, scissor lifts, and scaffolding.
• Are willing and able to work 12-hour shifts on occasion.
• Are willing and able to work on call during off hours including nights/weekends/holidays.
