Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance and patient transport services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit.
As a patient transport technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compassionate, safe and efficient transfer between facilities for adult behavioral health patients. You will be part of the Illinois Patient Transfer, or IPT, team supporting hospitals, patients and families across the state. This role is based in Peoria and will serve on a night rotation, 3rd shift every other weekend.
Job Duties:
- Supervise patients during transportation
- Provide proper de-escalation and aggression prevention techniques as required
- Assist facility staff with escorting both the patient and belongings to and from the vehicle
- Maintain current State of Illinois drivers license
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
- Present and promote a positive company image

Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Valid Illinois Drivers license required
- Successful completion of AMTs Management of Aggressive Behavior Training
