We are recruiting an outstanding Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team working at the Texas Behavioral Health Center at UT Southwestern, which is one of the few state psychiatric hospitals in the country operated by an academic institution. Faculty will have opportunities to innovate on models of care for patients with serious mental illness. This is a state-of-the-art facility which includes a Medical Psychiatry Unit, Interventional Psychiatry (ECT, IV ketamine, TMS), and a Partial Hospitalization program. This position will require direct patient care as well as teaching and supervision of psychiatry residents, medical students, clinical psychology graduate students, and other trainees. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry. Candidates who are not currently Board Certified or Board Eligible will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, with consideration given to relevant experience and qualifications. While Texas licensure is not required for consideration or selection, it is a pre-requisite for starting in the position. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in pursuing an academic career. Academic experience and a strong track record of clinical teaching is a plus. Additional training or fellowship in a specialty is a plus.
