POSITION:  Cook aide

SALARY: $20.00-$22.03, per hour

REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager

LOCATION: Convalescent Center, Nespelem, WA 

Basic Functions:  Perform the day-to-day activities of the Dietary Department as assisting the Cook with the preparation and serving of all meals, washing dishes, pots and pans, as well as the trays and setting up the drinks for the following meal. This position Is required to keep the Dietary areas clean and sanitary in accordance with current federal, state, local standards, guideline, and regulations governing the facility.     

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training: 

  • Requires a High school diploma or GED desired of the applicant.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires knowledge of long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge of Dietary requirements in a Long-Term Care setting preferred.
  • Ability to organize work duties in order to complete all tasks as assigned within the shift.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 2 feet and be able to push, pull, move; and/or carry said weight a minimum of 15 feet.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to successfully clear a Criminal History Background Inquiry that indicates no felony or conviction/s on the DSHS Secretary’s List.

 

 

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

 

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

 

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
