About the role

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the operation.   The role requires a committed leader to both employees and customers.  Will be able to grow the business with the highest integrity.   The General Manager directs the daily functions and is held accountable for achieving financial metrics while maintaining service standards and the store appearance.  Must be committed to the company’s mission statement, profitability, and achieving 100% customer satisfaction.  This is an exempt position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Achieve overall sales goals and service objectives, while ensuring operational and inventory standards.
Manage and grow commercial customer relationships.
Delegation and follow up of daily functions while holding team members accountable for executing action plans.
Manage team member hiring, scheduling, engagement, development, and performance expectations.
Coach Team Members to deliver and exceed customer expectations (DIY and commercial).
Enforce all company policies as defined in the SMEG Company Handbook.
Maintain clean and safe facilities including offices.
Always maintain a neat and professional personal appearance.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

 Will manage all aspects of the store and be the lead for direction, profitability, and success of the operation.
QualificationsQualifications

Prior leadership and management experience, with a proven track record required.
Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
Possess exceptional leadership and motivational skills.
Ability to engage in and maintain positive relationships with employees and customers.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other company software.
Must have advanced parts sourcing and lookup capabilities. This includes special ordering, secondary sources, and factory direct, etc.
Must be able to calculate discounts, percentages, sales increases, and gross profit percentages.
Must be able to review and analyze reports, such as profit and loss statements (P&L)
Ability to train team members and execute operational processes and procedures.  This includes the testing and diagnostics of equipment.

 

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED
Clean driving record with valid driver’s license
5+ years with experience in an automotive service-related industry
Knowledge of repair principles and procedures in all areas of the Automotive Industry
ASE certification or the ability to become ASE P2 certified is a plus.
OSHA and safety knowledge is desired.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and use hands to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
