About the role
Duties: Maintain and improve the quality of a dynamic web-based enterprise software application.
Work directly with the Product Management team to establish business requirements for new features
and software products. Analyze business requirements and formulate Test Strategies to be manually
executed within the testing environments using a mix of Integration, White Box, Black Box,
Regression and Exploratory testing. Document, share, and present test result reports to the rest of the
projects Agile scrum team, including Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Technical Leads and
Architects for review. Run training sessions within the Quality Science department to present their
features and products to team members, and lead group testing sessions. Create robust automated test
suites including functional graphic user interface (GUI) testing such as Selenium, low level application
programming interface (API) test, and data specific back-end tests directly at the database level using
structured query language (SQL), to replace manual validation for new features and products. Run
release operations regularly to test, tag in GitHub, and communicate to internal stakeholders the release
of a new software.
Requirements: Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in quantitative or computer-related field plus 4 years
progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a QA engineer or closely related occupation. Prior work
experience must include: Analyzing business requirements and specifications; Generating and
executing manual testing scenarios and strategies; Test Failure Analysis and Debugging; Data
validation in SQL database; Selenium WebDriver test creation; Application Program Interface (API)
test creation; Defect Tracking in Jira including Bug Filing, Maintenance and Reporting; Running tests
on Continuous Integration platform Jenkins; Using Source Control systems like Git or GitHub;
Troubleshooting and debugging bugs; Cross Browser Testing in Chrome, FireFox, and Internet
Explorer or Edge; Running scripts and commands in Linux Environment; Developing automated
testing framework for UI testing; Developing automated testing framework for data testing;
Conducting manual and automated Web Service testing; Planning and conducting functional testing,
integration testing, and exploratory testing; Using Agile Software Methodology; and, Object Oriented
Programming Language such as Java. May work from home but must be able to report to New York,
New York office at least 2 days per week. Salary is from $118,000 to $118,000 per year. Qualified
