Director, Corporate Strategy & Business Development, Strategic Innovation & Business Development

McKesson’s Corporate Strategy & Business Development (CSBD) strategic innovation arm, Strategic Innovation & Business Development (SIBD) is seeking to add an intrapreneurial, results-driven Director.  This individual will lead the identification, design, and launch of innovations that drive meaningful value to McKesson’s core supply chain and distribution businesses across the enterprise. This individual will also be responsible for building and nurturing strong stakeholder relationships across the enterprise to ensure innovations are implemented and scaled within the businesses.  Successful candidates will demonstrate strong strategic thinking, a collaborative and results-driven mindset, resilience and drive, and a passion for innovation in healthcare.  The Director will report directly to the Senior Director, Strategic Innovation & Business Development.

Position Description 

  • Build strategic stakeholder relationships: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify collaboration and partnership opportunities; align cross-functional priorities, navigate competing interests, and influence decision-makers to advance innovation initiatives
  • Lead the end-to-end ideation and development of innovative solutions: Independently conduct stakeholder interviews, market research, and competitive analysis to identify and prioritize new growth opportunities
  • Lead the design and implementation of pilot programs in collaboration with business owners: Independently develop project scope, design proof of concepts, and collaborate with internal and external partners to launch and test innovative initiatives
  • Build compelling business cases and obtain executive buy-in: Conduct rigorous financial analysis, develop persuasive investment pitches, and secure budget for promising projects
  • Drive project implementation and collaboration: Drive successful project execution and achievement of key milestones in a cross-functional environment, including managing project timelines, resources, and budget
  • Evaluate performance of pilots and unlock additional value: Track key performance indicators, assess improvement areas and trade-offs, synthesize data-driven insights to refine strategy and execution of innovation initiatives
  • Champion a culture of innovation: Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in management consulting, product management and innovation, or other strategy and innovation experience in a corporate or start-up environment
  • Prior experience in market analysis, competitive intelligence, financial analysis, and insights development
  • Healthcare and/or data and technology experience required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Willingness to learn: Thirst for knowledge, ability to quickly become the “expert” in new subject areas, and being open to coaching and feedback for growth within the company

Education

  • Must have 4-year Bachelor's degree
  • MBA or other advanced degree required
