Job Description

As Compliance Director, you will serve as a trusted advisor and compliance partner across multiple therapy areas, global functions, and key global compliance program elements. You will lead critical areas of the compliance program design and implementation, including third-party risk management, anti-corruption and sanctions compliance, compliance counselling support to assigned Global Functions, elements of our global healthcare compliance program, and internal investigations. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence strategic direction and drive meaningful change across a global biopharma business.

The position is hybrid (majority office based) and will be located in either Stockholm or Basel, reporting to Sobi’s Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer.

Your impact will include:

  • Provide strategic compliance leadership for assigned therapy areas, products, and global functions, ensuring adherence to internal policies and international standards (e.g. ABAC, IFMPA, EFPIA).
  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance global compliance frameworks for distributor partners, sanctions screening, and third-party risk management (including anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance).
  • Lead and oversee elements of the global healthcare compliance program, ensuring effective risk assessments, controls, systems, tools and training.
  • Lead the development and delivery of engaging global compliance training programs and processes that strengthen awareness, accountability, and ethical decision-making across the organization.
  • Conduct and manage assigned compliance investigations, perform root cause analyses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support development of global compliance risk assessments and monitoring activities, identifying gaps and implementing improvements to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Contribute to strategic compliance initiatives and continuous program improvement in collaboration with the Chief Compliance Officer and global compliance team, supporting a strong compliance and speak up culture.

Qualifications

You are an accomplished compliance professional with a strategic mindset and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders. You thrive in a global, matrixed environment and are passionate about promoting an ethical business culture that enables sustainable growth.

Key talents and experience

  • Minimum 15 years of international, in-house pharmaceutical compliance experience on global or regional level desirable.
  • Proven expertise in global compliance program leadership, training, third-party risk management, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex cross-functional and change management projects.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance systems, tools, and digital platforms (Microsoft Office proficiency required).
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Strong ethical judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
