ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager, Connected Fitness Accounting to join our growing Accounting team! You will play a key role in the Accounting and Finance department during a dynamic period of transformation and growth. This position will be a key member of the Connected Fitness Accounting team and supervise the team members responsible for Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold. The candidate will be responsible for developing and refining scalable policies, processes, and systems flows that create efficient transaction processing and risk mitigation while ensuring accounting is in accordance with US GAAP. In this role, you will be responsible for the ownership of various work streams within the controllership organization with a focus on Inventory accuracy and valuation, Inventory reserves, and the management of freight and logistics costs. This role will directly contribute to the development and implementation of standard global methodologies within various accounting and reporting processes. The Senior Manager, Connected Fitness Accounting will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills as they work cross functionally across the entire Peloton organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, operational inventory processes, and internal and external financial reporting. YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON
- Manage the month-end Inventory and Cost of Sales close processes by detail reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations and key analytics.
- Partner closely with Inventory and Supply Chain teams, ensuring that business needs are met while ensuring completeness and accuracy of accounting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Review existing processes and systems to assist in the identification of improvement opportunities with a focus on standardization, optimization and automation.
- Be the right hand to the Director, Connected Fitness Accounting with other responsibilities including participation and management of special projects, ERP enhancement initiatives, internal controls improvements, and ad hoc analyses as needed.
- Keeping team priorities on track and assisting the team and various departments throughout the organization with acquiring relevant information.
- Continually develop, expand, and improve month-end close and financial reporting procedures and help drive the reduction of the close timeline by assessing and streamlining close-related activities.
- Investigate reporting discrepancies/anomalies and communicate issues as they arise in a timely manner.
- Support the year-end financial statement audit and quarterly audit procedures, as well as local statutory audits that may arise.
YOU BRING TO PELOTON
- 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and SEC-registered company experience preferred.
- A strong understanding and application of US GAAP, with an Active CPA license in good standing preferred
- Accounting experience managing Inventory, including accuracy and valuation work for internal and 3PL warehouses, estimating inventory reserves, and managing operational costs.
- A highly organized self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage and engage with different levels of team members and external parties through outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Experience managing and developing the careers of direct reports.
- Strong analytical and Excel skills - must be comfortable analyzing and manipulating large data sets and presenting concise summaries and conclusions.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high growth organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems.
- Performs well under pressure and can effectively balance multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities.
Base Salary: $167,500.00 to $217,600.00
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
