Responsibilities

ARCFIELD is seeking an Aerospace Flight Software Test Engineer to test launch vehicle control software for critical National Security Space (NSS) missions for the U.S. Government.

 

Join a team of highly skilled engineers (ROCKET SCIENTISTS!) performing Software Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) tasks for payloads launching on ULA Vulcan, SpaceX Falcon 9 and potentially other New Entrant launch vehicles.

 

What You’ll Get to Do with Us:

 

  • Analyze Flight Software and Mission-Specific requirements in support of Test Plan development
  • Verify that flight software logic is correctly implemented based on software design documentation
  • Verify that flight software parameters are correctly implemented based on trajectory design data
  • Set up and execute simulator test cases; analyze test results to validate integrated flight software performance meets requirements
  • Develop, maintain, execute, and evaluate the output from MATLAB analysis tools
  • Document test results for delivery to the Customer
  • Strict adherence to project schedules in support of Customer milestones
  • Work within small teams, following established procedures, to achieve project goals

Be part of a proven team working on the next generation of space launch vehicles providing access to space.  You will be performing software testing with varying degrees of analysis complexity ranging from document and data review to the use of closed-loop trajectory simulations utilizing flight computer software emulators developed by Arcfield.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related engineering/scientific discipline
  • Minimum five years related work experience
  • US Citizenship
  • Fluent understanding of general physics and orbital mechanics
  • Systems-engineering level understanding of launch vehicle subsystems
  • Knowledgeable in Software Development Lifecycle concepts
  • Demonstrated capabilities in embedded real-time Software Test environment
  • Strong proficiency in MATLAB scripting and data analysis
  • Familiarity with C++ programming language
  • Evidence of strong technical writing skills – Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, Arcfield invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
