Indian River State College is looking for an Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher for its Child Development Center located on its Massey Campus in Fort Pierce. As a lead teacher, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes learning and development. You will work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure that each child receives individualized attention and care.
Our ideal candidate has a degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Special Education or a related field and at least 2 years of related work experience in the child care industry, specifically working with infants and toddlers. You should be knowledgeable about child development, early childhood education and have a passion for creating a positive learning environment.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, this position implements and supervises a developmentally appropriate curriculum in all Infant/Toddler classrooms for the College’s Day Care Center. Duties include assisting with licensing requirements; assessing children; leading teaching efforts in the classrooms; developing a good working relationship with parents; and ensuring various compliance requirements.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, organizes, supports, and supervises the Infant/Toddler Program; models appropriate teaching techniques; teaches (or substitutes) in the classroom; and assists with preparation and distribution of all infant-toddler progress reports to parents at least twice a year.
Assists with interviewing all enrolling infant-toddler parents; guides planning and evaluation for children.
Coordinates and attends parent conferences/meetings/functions.
Assists in the Center’s annual DCF inspections and licensing processes; monitors program compliance throughout the year; and submits weekly reports on compliance.
