Advanced Analytics Lead

Delta Dental recognizes that advanced analytics and machine learning is a journey – one that requires a strong and well-defined enterprise vision and strategy, an enterprise-based platform, and a cross-functional delivery and execution focus that delivers tangible benefits to the enterprise. By applying Advanced Analytics experience and providing thought leadership, this position will play a prominent Enterprise-wide role within the Data & Analytics Center of Excellence as we empower the organization to generate, consume, and action valuable insights across all business functions.

• Establish an “Enterprise Advanced Analytics Strategy” that is aligned with the overall Enterprise D&A Strategy
• Partner with IT architecture and infrastructure to design and build-out an enterprise analytics platform that supports advanced analytics and machine learning / artificial intelligence
• Establish operating model that enables business functions to perform advanced analytics and AI by leveraging the enterprise platform, tools, and processes
• Establish and lead a cross-functional AI/ML/advanced analytics working team to ensure alignment on activities and to implement strategic initiatives
• Lead the AI/ML/advanced analytics track on key strategic projects
• In support of key strategic initiatives: build, validate, and implement predictive models
• Develop AI/ML proofs-of-concept to showcase capabilities and generate business Use Cases
• Present predictive model results and analytic findings to stakeholders and operationalizes the models and business consumption
• Participate in external AI/ML vendor evaluations and POCs
• Work directly with business partners and assist in requirements definition, project scoping, timeline management, results documentation and operationalization

• 4+ years of experience w/Bachelor’s degree
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving skills with high attention to details and accuracy
• Experience using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions
• Proven ability to drive each project to completion with minimal guidance while effectively managing multiple projects at a time
• Experience in using data visualization techniques to effectively communicate analytical results and support business decisions
• A self-starter that adapts well to change in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace and works well in cross-functional teams/projects
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences
• Experience in working with assignments that involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $92,000 - $196,500
