We are hiring a Senior Manager, Business Development to join our winning team!
Reporting directly to Hubbell Utility Solutions (HUS) Finance Director of Business Development, the Senior Business Development Manager will serve as a key member of the HUS business development team and have responsibility to oversee and complete pre and post-acquisition processes as well as ensuring seamless integration of financial functions of acquired companies. In this role, you will work with partners internally and outside the company to ensure the successful financial integration of the acquired companies while working in a fast-paced environment. This role is required to support acquisition integration, particularly the financial accounting, reporting & controls side of finance integration, and for ensuring SOX 404 compliance within the required timeframe for newly acquired businesses.
The successful candidate should have a unique combination of experiences in controllership, financial planning & analysis, operations accounting, and large project management along with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
As a member of the segment finance team the successful candidate will also contribute to other strategic initiatives and major projects as well as the professional development and resiliency of the broader financial organization.
A Day In The Life
- Overall Responsibilities for the Role:
- Key finance leader responsible for the integration and adherence of Hubbell’s accounting and finance policies and SOX 404 compliance for newly acquired companies.
- Review financial statements, internal controls, and operations of a target company to identify potential risks in a deal transaction.
- Identify potential financial gaps and risks within newly acquired companies and help develop and design processes to ensure operational effectiveness of all internal controls over financial reporting.
- Develop and implement a continuous improvement culture to drive enhancements in the post-acquisition company accounting processes, with particular emphasis on accelerating the month-end closing process of newly acquired businesses.
- Create financial structure in SAP and perform account mapping to ensure financials are properly loaded from legacy system to SAP to OneStream.
- Coordinate with 3rd party valuation team and external auditors as needed.
- Collaborate all financial due diligence and integration with the acquiring HUS business unit, along with segment controllership, corporate accounting, tax and treasury. Proactively engage with the broader deal team to evaluate their due diligence findings, and where impactful to the financial model, guide further diligence necessary for qualification and incorporation into the acquisition financial model.
- Provide strong leadership, oversight, supervision, guidance and coaching to the newly acquired business.
- Develop finance resource plans for targeted acquisitions, their assimilation into Hubbell, along with integration into the HUS career planning and talent development processes
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA, CMA and/or MBA preferred.
- Senior finance and accounting professional with 8+ years’ experience in a variety of accounting finance leadership positions including experience integrating Finance activities from acquired companies.
- Experience with U.S. multi-national publicly traded manufacturing company.
- Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
- Strong technical accounting and understanding of GAAP required.
- Experience with designing and implementing internal controls to mitigate business risks.
- SAP and OneStream experience strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, mentor develop all levels of accounting team.
- Results-oriented, with a very strong drive, work ethic and commitment to excellence.
- Outstanding analytical skills, a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and the ability to engage with senior leaders in addressing complex business issues.
- Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel, as required (~20% travel).
