About the role

(Please Note: The selected candidate will be required to obtain a certification to administer anesthesia within the 1st year of employment.)

Full-Time| Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM

Job Purpose or Objective(s): As the Dental Hygienist, you will provide clinical and educational services under the general direction and guidance of a dentist. You will report to the Director. 

 

Primary Tasks:

  1. Perform chair side prophylaxis, full mouth debridement, sub gingival scaling and root planning by using hand instruments, and ultrasonic devices.

  2. Observe and chart all oral conditions and periodontal problems by examining the patients’ teeth, mouth, throat, and pharynx.

  3. Place temporary restorations, desensitizing agents, sealants, remove sutures, and change periodontal dressings.

  4. Educate patients on proper brushing and flossing techniques, nutritional and dietary counseling for control of dental disease, tobacco counseling, and care of removable appliances and bridges.

  5. Administer anesthesia and medications such as topical anesthetic, local anesthetic, topical fluoride gel, topical fluoride varnish, and may administer nitrous oxide.

  6. Review patient dental history, medical history, medications, chart, and radiographs before initiating treatment. 

  7. Practice infection control standards as set forth by company policy and procedures.

  8. Other responsibilities as may be assigned.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
  • Licensed to work as a Dental Hygienist in Oklahoma
  • CPR Certification or willingness to obtain
  • One [1] year of clinical experience
