MCU Ecosystem technical marketing engineer: As part of the MCU Innovations organization in the Edge Processing Business Line at NXP Semiconductors, the Ecosystem Team drives the definition and promotion of software and tools, plus strategic partner engagements to ensure the best possible enablement for our microcontrollers.
Job description: This role encompasses the following responsibilities:
•Assist in defining software tool and application software requirements based on inputs from NXP FAEs, customers and product marketing.
•Develop technical marketing materials (presentations, videos) to promote and educate customers/FAEs/Sales about enabling software technologies and tools.
•Develop hands-on training materials to provide introductory training to enabling software technologies and tools for customers and FAEs. Participate in training delivery to FAEs and customers.
•Support partner relationships as part of the NXP Partner Program, developing joint training, help drive promotion and foster collaboration.
•Evaluate competitor software and tools to assess capabilities versus NXP offerings.
•Work with Marcom team support to promote MCU enablement through blogs, social media and other media channels.
NXP’s general purpose MCUs are supported by enabling software and tool technology, developed both internally and from partners, in the areas of graphics, voice recognition, touch sensing, audio processing, motor control, wired communications (networking and USB), cloud connectivity, functional safety and security. The Ecosystem also works closely with leading IDE and debug technology vendors, 3rd party board vendors and NXP’s own internal developers who deliver complementary IDEs, configuration tools and other sophisticated tools to enable feature of our innovative MCUs. The successful candidate will be assigned to specialize in a selection of these areas, for which they will be responsible for driving the roadmap and strategy, plus leading educational and promotional efforts for them.
Required skills and experienceCandidates should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science with 1-2 years of practical experience in embedded software development in C/C++. Computer science graduates must have a basic understanding of digital circuits. The role requires drive and determination to champion NXP’s solutions to FAEs, sales team and customers so excellent communication skills, including fluency in English (both spoken and written), are needed. Day to day collaboration with colleagues across the World is involved, including regular communication with colleagues in the United States and China.
