About the role:

As Principal Designer, you will play a critical role at Level, designing world-class digital experiences within our iOS, Android and web apps. Using your in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise, you will help shape and influence our design approach while proposing solutions that align with Level’s long-term business goals. 

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end user journey from ideation to final production
• Influence the shape of the product while executing designs using high-quality wireframes, user journeys, cross-platform interactive prototypes, and pixel-perfect visual design
• Design experiences across all of our platforms: iOS, Android, and web
• Participate in design critiques and present work regularly in stakeholder feedback meetings
• Evaluate design opportunities through UX research interviews
• Build relationships with cross-functional team members across disciplines, and effectively speak to process, goals, and team vision
• Partner with engineers as they build and ship solutions
• Manage and direct external design resources, as needed

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of product design experience working in UX, UI, HCI or related field with experience working on mobile
• Ability to work autonomously (without being deterred by ambiguity) while also collaborating with your design team members, sharing your expertise with them, and expanding the overall capabilities of Level’s design team.
• Proven track record of working with engineering teams to successfully ship products to users
• Ability to operate as a subject matter expert with a focus on customer needs, independently coming up with effective solutions to complex problems
• Experience implementing design systems across a range of platforms in an iterative software development environment
• Highly proficient with design tools (Figma, Principle, etc)
• Ability to think big and understand complex feature sets, shaping design for multi-disciplinary projects
• Portfolio of UX-focused work samples for web and mobile applications
• An understanding of how product design operates within larger companies balanced with a high-level of comfort and experience working on smaller team environments preferred
