Metalex powered by UPG is a growing steel service center that has been in business for almost 60 years. Metalex is looking to hire a PSO/General Factory to join our dynamic team! Successful candidates will have ideally worked in the steel industry (but not required) and have a solid level of experience with the types of specialized products and services produced by steel service centers. We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate that is eager to learn and grow in this fast-paced environment. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers by providing high level of service, value-add opportunities, and professionalism in all interactions, allowing us to become a valued member of their supply chain and production teams.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Perform basic manufacturing and assembly functions in Production departments as assigned.

Work under instruction of Supervisor or Department Assistant.

Train for additional responsibilities.

Comply with all health and safety procedures

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Department Assistant.

Position Requirements

High level of mechanical aptitude preferred.

Verbal and written communication in English.

Read blueprints, both English and metric.

Understanding of ISO 9001:2015

Knowledge of labor cards, routing and move ticket.

Knowledge of form press operations.

Knowledge of Company polices shop and safety rules.

Basic knowledge on the care and use of inspection devices; tape measure, combination square, protractor, caliper, etc.

Basic math skills.

As required, ability to perform repetitive bending, kneeling, and lift cumbersome and or heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
