Our location in Des Plaines, IL​ currently has an opportunity for a

Sr. Global Performance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will perform analytical and investigative studies to monitor performance and quality of components and products in the field. This role will act as a subject matter expert for Field based Engineers on Abbott Molecular Quality systems and procedures.

What You’ll Do:

  • Quality System Maintenance: Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Engineering and Risk Management: Apply engineering and risk management principles to monitor and improve instrument subassemblies, systems, or processes.
  • Complaint and Failure Investigation: Investigate complaints and failures to determine root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Training and Coaching: Train and coach Global Service and Support team members on Abbott Molecular Quality Systems.
  • Complaint Management: Serve as an administrator for Complaint Management Systems.
  • CAPA Investigations: Perform Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations individually or as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Audit Support: Assist with audit preparation and responses.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING 

REQUIRED 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2 years of practical engineering or technician experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven project management capabilities leading to successful project completion.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office.

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of post-secondary education in an engineering field with an additional two years of practical engineering or technician experience, or equivalent.
  • Experience with audit preparations.
  • Experience with Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations.
  • Ability to report on and close out quality investigations.
  • Data investigative skills; experience using Track Wise QMS Software, SmartSolve, and/or CMS Next software.
  • Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally (primarily an office-based position).
