Job Description: 

First Urology is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist & Credentialing Assistant to join our team. This role supports both the billing department and our lead credentialing coordinator. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in medical billing and a basic understanding of credentialing processes within a medical office setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Billing:

  • Submit accurate claims to commercial and government insurance payers
  • Review and correct claim denials and resubmit as needed
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Assist patients with billing inquiries and account balances

Credentialing Support:

  • Assist the Credentialing Coordinator in gathering documentation for provider enrollments
  • Maintain accurate provider files and track license, DEA, and insurance expiration dates
  • Complete routine data entry tasks such as updating CAQH profiles and NPI information
  • Follow up with payers or providers for missing or delayed information
  • Help manage credentialing timelines and communicate updates to internal staff

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in medical billing required
  • Prior exposure to or knowledge of medical credentialing preferred
  • Familiarity with insurance guidelines and payer portals
  • Experience using EHR and billing software
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
