Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic Level 2

Summary: As a member of the Martin's employee family, the Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic II repairs and maintains company vehicles to minimize breakdowns as well as maintain state, federal, and DOT standards.

Pay rate:

• $24-$27/hour (based on experience) – Paid Weekly!

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. 

• 1 On-Call rotation once a month.  

• Days and times are subject to change as business needs change, to include working on days off and Holidays.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :  include the following. Other duties may be assigned.    

• Performs work orders assigned by planners /manager  including but not limited to: repairs and services air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling, and electrical  systems, brake replacements on step vans and automobiles, exhaust replacement, radiators, and rear springs.  

• Performs preventative maintenance work on water pumps, transmissions, ABS systems.   

• Performs  tune ups on standard transmission automobiles.  

• Provides training and quality assurance supervision of level 1 mechanics.   

• Ensures adherence to general standards as well as Martin’s specific standards of operations.  

• Performs tasks of level 1 mechanic as needed .  

• After repairs, examines and test drives vehicles to ensure that the repair was made successfully and that the vehicle is working properly .  

• Examines and adjusts protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.   

• Raises trucks and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.   

• Uses hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power too ls such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.   

• Ensures all parts are examined, including belts, hose, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.   

• Keeps up-to-date technically and applies new knowledge to the job. Willingness to attend technical training provided by either manufacturers and/or other designated parties to advance skills an
