About the role

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION 

 

Responsible for safely assisting Electrical Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and work spaces. Responsible for coordinating crews, preparing, handling, and supplying materials to be used by other crafts.

KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS) 

 

A. Pull DC and MV wire 

B. Safely utilize hand and power tools after proper training (Drills, Crimpers, Cutters, etc.) 

C. Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit utilizing various hand tools 
D. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools 

E. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components  

F. Lift, position, and fasten objects 

G.  Install, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and 
regulations 

H. Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and components 

I. Prepare, handle, and supply of materials and tools be used by electrical trades 

J. Repair and maintain high voltage systems 

K. Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of 
repairs and/or installations 

L. Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment 

M. Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and established procedures 

N. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels 
All other duties as assigned 

O. Demonstrated ability to lead electrical crews

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

 

Limited ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings, and procedure manuals 

 Ability to work with tools, such as, power and non-powered hand tools 

 Willing and able to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions 

 Ability to work with equipment, such as, vibrators, pumps, drills and jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders and power buggies 

 Ability to handle materials that can weigh up to 200Ibs 

 Strong teamwork orientation 

 Positive attitude and professional customer service skills 

 Detail oriented 

 Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

 

High school diploma or GED (preferred) 

Electrical experience (required) 

Minimum 4 years of experience in solar industry (required) 

Electrical Apprenticeship (preferred) 

Current driver’s license
