Outpatient Physical Therapist - Sports/Athletic Population

Nebraska Medicine is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist to join our team. This role offers a mix of general orthopedics and a growing sports caseload, with referrals primarily from internal sports medicine providers.

Priority consideration will be given to applicants with experience providing therapy for the sports/athletic population. Additional preferred qualifications include board certifications (Orthopedic Clinical Specialist or Sports Clinical Specialist) and experience with dry needling.

Location: Lauritzen Outpatient Center | Nebraska Medicine Omaha, NE

Schedule (1.0 FTE, Exempt):

  • Option 1: Five 8-hour days, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

  • Option 2: Four 10-hour days, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

Duties: Outpatient Physical Therapist - Sports/Athletic Population

Perform evaluation, planning, and implementation of physical therapy treatments. Assist with department goal setting, program planning, clinical instruction, and staff instruction in order to maintain a progressive educationally motivated staff. Carry out day to day communication and duties with teamwork and professionalism.

Required Qualifications: Outpatient Physical Therapist - Sports/Athletic Population
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a physical therapy program accredited by the Commission of Accredited Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required. Strong team orientation required.
• Familiarity with items found in a typical PT (e.g., weights, exercise bikes, gait belts, ultrasound, traction, ambulatory devices, mats, etc.) required.
• Currently licensed as a physical therapist in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

Preferred Qualifications: Outpatient Physical Therapist - Sports/Athletic Population
• Rehabilitation experience preferred.
