Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Project Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is eager to develop their skills in a professional setting. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to translate business needs into actionable insights. As an Entry Level Project Accountant, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business objectives and technology solutions, contributing to the overall success of our organization. This individual will work closely with the CFO and Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective project cost management.Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Assist in tracking and monitoring project budgets, ensuring expenses align with financial plans.
- Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for projects.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and project documentation.
- Assist in billing and revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with contract terms
- Prepare reports on project financial performance for review by the CFO and Controller.
- Processing and reviewing timesheet data weekly for accuracy and allowable hours.
- Maintain compliance with tax law including federal and multi-state registration, regulations, and filings.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and record payroll related journal entries to the general ledger.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or project-based financial roles (internships or relevant coursework are a plus)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (experiencde with Deltek, Quickbooks, or similar ERP systems is a plus).
- Basic knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
