SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of software development projects within our organization. As a key member of the engineering team, you will manage cross-functional teams, ensure alignment with business objectives, and deliver software solutions on time and within scope. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing software projects from inception to deployment.

DUTIES

Project Leadership & Coordination:

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of software projects, from planning to post-launch support.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product management, design, QA, and other stakeholders.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
  • Regularly update senior leadership and stakeholders on project progress, milestones, and potential obstacles.
  • Gather and prioritize project requirements, ensuring clear communication of expectations to all team members.

Team Management:

  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance work environment.
  • Guide teams through the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

Quality & Process Improvement:

  • Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, project management, and quality assurance.
  • Continuously monitor and improve project processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Performance Tracking & Reporting:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and delivery timelines.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and implement process improvements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in software development or project management.
  • Proven experience managing software development projects, including cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.

Skills:

  • Strong technical background with an understanding of software engineering processes, technologies, and tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, GitLABs, Trello, Asana, MS Project).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical issues.

Certifications (optional but preferred):

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certifications.
  • Scrum Master or Agile certifications.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods and occasionally lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments, requiring appropriate safety and ESD protections.
  • X-ray safety training and dosimeter badge required for work in x-ray environments.

      SUPERVISES OTHERS:

      • Makes technical decisions and supervises junior engineers technically.

      SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

      • Receives general supervision regarding priorities, schedule, and company goals.

      BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY:

      • None

      WORKING CONDITIONS:

      • Primarily office-based, with regular lab
