Position Overview:

Provides nursing assistant or unlicensed assistive person services to patients in accordance with facility policies and procedures, and in the direction of supervisor(s).

Key Responsibilities:

• • Maintains established clinic policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards, and protocols.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.
  • Provides general aspects of care that meet psychosocial or physical needs or both simultaneously, within the nursing assistant’s scope of practice.
  • Meets communication needs of patients.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.
  • Demonstrates performance reflecting the initiative and responsibility expected of a nursing assistant.
  • Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
  • Assist with orientation of new employees
  • Use proper lifting and body mechanics while delivering care to patients and meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Reports changes in a patient’s condition to the patient’s nurse and/or supervisor.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all equipment used in treatment of patients
  • Maintains and replaces supplies on unit assigned.
• As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency.
• Performs other duties as assigned, within the UAP/Nursing Assistant’s scope of practice.
