We are looking for a curious student who is interested in learning more about the corporate accounting function within a rapidly scaling, publicly traded company. The Accounting Intern will gain experience in understanding balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and the review process, and supporting initiatives related to ongoing compliance and audit preparation. The Capstone Project will be focused around the topic of designing and implementing standardized procedures and processes for the accounting organization to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
Where you'll be planted:This is a hybrid position, with 1-day/week on-site in our King of Prussia, PA location.You must be able to commit to a 40 hour work week Monday through Friday. Hours can be flexible based on coursework.

What You Will Work On During This Internship

  • Assist in identifying opportunities to refine and consolidate existing accounting processes for greater efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of streamlined workflows and document updates as needed.
  • Develop and improve accounting templates to standardize practices across the business.
  • Write detailed instructions and standards of practice (SOPs) to ensure consistency and accuracy in accounting tasks.
  • Assist with the maintenance and updates of the balance sheet reconciliation tool.
  • Help troubleshoot any issues, ensuring the tool functions effectively and aligns with business needs.
  • Help prepare and organize financial data for monthly and quarterly reporting purposes.
  • Ensure records are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for the accounting team.
  • Contribute to maintaining documentation and processes that adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Assist in gathering materials for internal and external audits as required.
  • Provide support for special projects, including ad hoc reporting or analysis requests from senior accountants or management.

Requirements:

  • Must be attending an accredited college or university and working towards a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in Accounting.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have current U.S. work authorization

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong experience within Microsoft Excel preferred
  • Task and project-oriented
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Positive attitude with an eagerness and willingness to learn
  • Ability to listen, understand, and be able to convey and concisely explain ideas
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
