Job Summary: This apprentice position allows entry level technicians to assist NC Technicians, Facility Technicians, and Machine Technicians with routine maintenance and simple repairs to a variety of machine tools and other related Operations equipment. The apprentice technician will work under the guidance and direction of a higher-grade NC Technician, Facility Technician, or Maintenance Technician. Job Responsibilities: Performs routine maintenance and simple repairs on technologically advanced production machinery and electronic systems. The Apprentice must be able to learn and apply electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting aptitude and their application for machine tools and Operations equipment. Regularly uses a wide variety of test equipment and troubleshooting tools including infrared cameras, ultrasonic detection, control software, ball bar, dial indicators, voltmeters, ammeters in machine diagnosis and repair. Becomes thoroughly familiar with, and adheres to, machine operation and adjustment procedures, lubrication and alignment requirements and preventative maintenance instructions. Adjusts, calibrates, and verifies operational performance of equipment and their integration with other systems. Performs preventative maintenance activities including periodic inspection, testing, and servicing of machines. Maintains documentation and service records as required. Develops competency in the use of machine drawings, schematics, ladder diagrams. Builds upon work experience to advance to a higher grade as a NC Technician, Facility Technician, or Machine Technician. The Apprentice will need to develop a working knowledge of a broad range of electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic principles to advance to an entry level NC Technician, Facility Technician, or Machine Technician grade C position. Performs other related duties as required. Responsible only for own work.  

Education: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess or attain a Bronze level certification on the WorkKeys assessment. Must possess or be able to attain a valid company driver’s license. Experience: No experience required. Mechanical aptitude preferred. Working Conditions: Somewhat disagreeable due to temperatures, dust, machinery related fluids and uncomfortable working positions.
