The goal of the Division of Blind Services (DBS) is to help blind and visually impaired Floridians achieve their goals and live productive and independent lives. The Division of Blind Services Fiscal Office is responsible for DBS’ internal financial and accounting operations, which include contractual payments, accounts payable, revenue and client services.

Job Description
This position is a professional accounting position working in the Division of Blind Services (DBS) Fiscal Office within the Bureau of the Comptroller at the Department of Education (DOE). The incumbent must be able to process payments/reimbursements correctly/timely. Specific responsibilities include:
- Responsible for mailing all division state warrants. Match warrants with invoicing, verify information is correct and put in envelopes for mailing on a daily basis.
- Back up for printing vouchers, log in logbook and distribute to co-workers daily.
- Responsible for all incoming and outgoing mail and make sure it is delivered to the appropriate person and has the correct date stamp on a daily basis.
- Process purchase requisitions in MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) and reconcile MFMP to FLAIR on a monthly basis.
- Maintain the 12-month Outstanding Warrant List, contact vendors, clients, as well as DBS counselor to determine the status of the warrant. Request for cancellation or duplicate as needed.
- Verify and approve all other warrant cancellations. Request copies of endorsed warrants as needed.
- Incumbent will be responsible for auditing monthly Grants & Donations and Daytona Rehabilitation Center bank statements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
- Ability to prepare financial statements and reports.
- Ability to design and implement accounting systems.
- Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.
- Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program.
