Job Description

The finance summer interns will join our finance team at our World Headquarters in Prairie Village, KS to support the financial operations and data-driven decision making processes at WireCo. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience at a global manufacturing company with various initatives such as forecasting, audit, accounting, treasury, financial modeling, and more.

This is a paid, 40-hours per week internship, running mid-May 2024 to Mid-August 2024.  Interns will also receive a monthly housing stipend.

Duties & Responsibilities

Summer interns will work on a variety of projects and daily tasks, examples may include:

  • Research and analyze data from multiple sources to provide crucial decision-making information to the business functions
  • Present data-driven recommendations to the finance team
  • Provide MS Excel and MS PowerPoint reports to support other functions with timely and accurate deliverables
  • Assist with financial modeling
  • Provide general accounting support
  • Assist with implementing standard work processes and procedures

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, accounting, or another relevant discipline
  • Minimum completion of 2 years of coursework

Materials and Equipment Directly Used

  • Standard office equipment including computer, mouse, keyboard, telephone, multifunction copier

Additional Information

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history and educational background. 
  • Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen and physical (if required)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
