Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst, Accounting and Reporting, participates in the day-to-day operations of Film Headquarters and will assist in a wide range of accounting, finance, and consolidation matters. The role is in a fast paced headquarters environment, interfaces with various teams and has opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning the close timeline, including coordinating with the various Film business units, Financial Reporting and FP&A.
  • Support the accounting and reporting functions across Universal Domestic Theatrical Reporting, Focus Features, and Stage Play productions.
  • Key contributor to the month and quarter end close and financial reporting processes, including preparation of journal entries, preparing reconciliations, rollforwards across miscellaneous financial statement line items, variance analysis and preparing supporting schedules.
  • Manage the accounting and reporting of the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group fixed asset process from requestion to end user reporting.
  • Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives and opportunities to build efficiencies into existing reporting routines.
  • Assist in monitoring the account reconciliations for the Film HQ team and other Film business units for quality and timeliness.
  • Prepare NBCU Corporate data request submissions, gathering and consolidating information from various sources and review data requests prepared by the offshore business provider.
  • Assist in the Film HQ miscellaneous cash application.
  • Manage work performed by Business Process Outsourcing provider, including training, and review and maintenance of desktop procedures.
  • Prepare and present key areas within the quarterly Balance Sheet review package. 
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
  • CPA or on path to obtaining CPA license preferred.
  • Strong / exceptional Excel skills and working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Analysis for Excel (AOE) / SAP preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills.
  • Excellent Project Management skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
