Job Description
The Strategic Sourcing Analyst for Indirect Materials & Services is responsible for supporting and developing Enterprise-wide sourcing strategies within ITW’s Indirect Spend Category specific to Professional Services and Temporary Labor
This Analyst, working as an individual contributor, is accountable for working closely with ITW’s seven different segment areas and various Corporate functions to identify and design leveraged spend strategies specific to Professional Services and Temporary Labor across the North American Region - $650M in Indirect Sourcing activities. The development and execution of high performing category strategies, achieving best delivered cost, quality and service delivery targets is a key driving deliverable of this role.
Strong candidates must be proactive, motivated, organized, and work well within a fast-paced group.
Primary Objectives and Deliverables:
- Develop category plans and sourcing strategies specific to Professional Services and Temporary Labor
- Utilize the 7 Step Sourcing process in order to address all relevant category management activities and life-cycle requirements from business case initiation to category strategy execution to disposition of strategy where necessary
- Create & coordinate cross-functional stakeholder councils, in order to properly vet, execute and secure continued performance of category management and sourcing strategies
- Analyze market dynamics to understand upstream cost drivers and their effects on cost and market capacity, develop mitigation strategies where necessary
- Establish category KPI targets (cost, control, process efficiency) and supplier scorecard programs in order to quantify the performance and value return of category management strategies
- Conduct and lead supplier business reviews in coordination with ITW internal customers, against the defined KPIs and targeted business outcomes
- Ownership of relationship with ITW’s Vendor Management System provider AgileOne - Lead business reviews and actively engage with external team on a regular basis
- Perform complex bid analysis to make sourcing recommendations to our internal stakeholders - this includes researching potential suppliers at the onset of a project
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject such as business, supply chain, operations or management is required
- 1-3 years of work experience (can include internship work) in Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Data Analytics,
- Ability to travel an estimated 25% (max.)
- Ability to be onsite at the Glenview headquarters
- Skilled in Excel (including Lookups, Pivot tables/Charts, PowerPivot, Advanced Formulas) and/or PowerBI or similar tools (e.g. Tableau) to provide reporting and analysis to the Enterprise - Training will be available
Key Skills Include
- Ability to design effective, fact-based business case justifications with the capacity to drive and steer group decisions
- Strong customer service orientation including relationship management, conducting demonstrations/training, and managing issues through resolution
- A high-level of Emotional Intelligence and ability to build effective relationships and trust
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Market benchmarking & cost modeling and other data analytics to support budget forecasting, cost mitigation and process improvement strategies
- Demonstrated project management skills, project planning, scheduling, and tracking
- Proven ability to communicate and work effectively across many functional groups; i.e. Operations, Finance, Risk, Legal, Communications, HR, etc.
