Your New Role…
CNN seeks a talented Director of Domestic Booking to join the US Booking team in New York!
Your Role Accountabilities...
The Director of Domestic Booking will oversee managing the network's booking efforts on major domestic news stories. The position will be responsible for aggressively pursuing “big gets” as well as leading efforts to deploy “go teams” on breaking news stories. They will work closely the EPs of show teams and the newsgathering team to coordinate those efforts.
Manage all book interviews, entertainment interviews, and WBD cross-platform interviews. Responsibilities include liaising with those publicists on opportunities at CNN and developing creative and competitive pitches. The Director is also responsible for coordinating with show teams on their booking efforts and having a command of where bookings stand on big, competitive bookings. The Director must also have a command of the competitive landscape across other networks. This person must develop and manage a system for keeping CNN competitive with big domestic bookings and must be able to coordinate directly with show teams and high-level talent.
Relationship building with newsmakers and their representatives. The position will be responsible for developing and maintaining a broad list of relevant newsmaker contacts.
Oversee special projects and network-wide initiatives, working collaboratively with all shows/platforms to achieve the best on air/online outcomes possible.
Managing the CNN US booking ‘brand’ externally, including serving as a direct point of contact for high profile newsmakers’ offices, publishing houses, entertainment firms, the financial sector, and other prominent organizations.
Lead and manage a staff in support of production teams across the US.
May require travel for breaking news as needed.
Qualifications & Experience...
At least ten years+ of broadcast journalism experience with emphasis on booking
Proven track record booking high level guests in the competitive network to network booking environment
Demonstrated an established network of relationships and contacts across a broad section of politics, business, culture, and publishing
Collaborative individual with an aptitude for working with diverse talent and staff
Experience successfully managing on-air personalities
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Be innovative, creative, and great at mentoring people
Able to lead a team and display excellent leadership skills
Prefer experience launching a new show or project
College Degree preferred

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $140,000.00 - $260,000.00 salary per year.
